With roots deeply imbedded in Southern Africa and an unparalleled passion for diving, Anders Heegaard is the newly appointed PADI Regional Manager for our region

ANDERS HEEGAARD


Born in South Africa, Anders spent his childhood in Kokstad. He subsequently moved to the Middle East and thereafter Denmark. He studied Marketing and Innovation at the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark. It was whilst studying that he started diving in the cooler waters of Denmark and Sweden.

​

Anders’ 17 years as a PADI Instructor have taken him around the world; from Thailand and Honduras to the Turks and Caicos Islands southeast of the Bahamas. The last eight years brought him to Mexico, where he focused on GoPro and technical diving. As an active figure in the technical and cave diving community of Mexico, Anders has been part of several cave exploration projects to extreme depths.

​

His achievements, though many, include establishing his dive centre as the leading dive centre in Mexico for PADI Pro and Tec certifications. Anders was also awarded PADI Platinum Course Director status.

​

Supplementary to his business and recreational diving qualifications, Anders is also an IDSA Level 1 Commercial Scuba Diver, IDSA Level 3 Offshore Air Diver and a Powered Paragliding Instructor and Pilot.

​

Anders will be commencing his new role as Regional Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa from 1 June 2017, where he will combine his passion for diving with his experience and education in business to reach the full potential that this region deserves.
